📱 "JUNKER" APP – YOUR RECYCLING ASSISTANT

The Municipal Administration of Budoni, in collaboration with Formula Ambiente, provides Junker, a free app designed to make waste sorting easy and error-free.

How Junker Works:

Scan any product's barcode using your device's camera or search for an item by name. Junker breaks down the product into its component materials and indicates exactly which bin each part belongs to.

• Daily Updates: A database of over 1,000,000 products is continuously updated. If a scanned item is not recognized, simply send a photo through the app to receive instant sorting instructions.

• Additional Features: Find recycling centre locations, opening hours, zone-based door-to-door collection schedules, and local environmental announcements.

How to Download Junker:

1. Download Junker from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

2. Open the app and select Budoni as your Municipality.

3. Access local collection calendars and instant barcode scanning.

Waste Sorting Guide

🟤 ORGANIC WASTE

✅ What goes in

• Kitchen waste, food and fruit scraps, spoiled food, dirty paper napkins, cold ashes, coffee pods, small prunings of flowers, plants, grass clippings, and leaves (only amounts fitting inside the bin).

ℹ️ Disposal instructions

• Waste must be disposed of exclusively in compostable and biodegradable bags.

❌ What stays out

• Diapers/nappies, sanitary pads, rags, sponges, chewing gum, and cigarette butts.

🩶 UNSORTED WASTE

✅ What goes in

• Diapers/nappies, sanitary pads, dirty rags, sponges, toothbrushes, rubber items, cigarette butts, laminated paper, non-neon light bulbs, ballpoint pens, razor blades, baking paper, and coffee capsules.

ℹ️ Disposal instructions

• Empty and rinse dirty containers if necessary. Waste must not contain organic residue or hazardous substances. Waste must be disposed of exclusively in transparent bags.

❌ What stays out

• Recyclable waste (Organic, Plastic, Glass, Metals, Paper), bulky waste, WEEE (electronic waste), construction/demolition waste (rubble, etc.), and hazardous waste.

🟦 PAPER & CARDBOARD

✅ What goes in

• Newspapers, magazines, paper & cardboard packaging, food and drink cartons, photocopies, and paper sheets.

ℹ️ Disposal instructions

• Boxes and cardboard must be folded to reduce volume. Please remove metal staples and adhesive tape.

❌ What stays out

• Laminated paper, baking paper, and any paper or cardboard soiled with paint or other toxic products.

🟡 PLASTIC

✅ What goes in

• Plastic packaging (even if dirty): bottles, detergent bottles, disposable plates, cups and polystyrene, plastic bags, trays, and cling film.

ℹ️ Disposal instructions

• Empty and rinse dirty containers if necessary. Packaging must not contain organic waste or hazardous substances and must be crushed to reduce volume.

❌ What stays out

• Broken toys, rubber items, plastic and metal pipes, and ballpoint pens.

🟢 GLASS & CANS

✅ What goes in

• Glass packaging: bottles, jars, small jars, glass bottles (without their metal lids), and cans.

ℹ️ Disposal instructions

• Containers must be placed directly into the bin free of liquids/products; dirty items must be well drained and rinsed if necessary. Do not place items inside plastic bags.

❌ What stays out

• Light bulbs and neon lamps, glass panes, crystal, mirrors, ceramic, porcelain, terracotta items, demijohns, and other bulky items.
